Ingredients:
- 6 pita breads
- 6 hamburgers of your choice
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder or granulated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the Pitas:
Cut each pita bread in half to create pockets. Take a hamburger patty and stuff it into each half pita, pressing down the meat so it's level with the opening of the pita. Repeat this for as many pita halves as you want to make.Make the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.Coat the Pitas:
Use a cooking brush to generously coat both sides of each pita half with the marinade mixture. Also, brush the top of the meat that’s exposed at the open end of the pita.Cook the Arais:
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the pita halves in the pan. Cook each side for about 6 minutes, then turn them so the open, meat-filled side is face down in the pan, and cook for an additional 6 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked and the pita is golden and crispy.Serve:
Serve the Arais immediately while they’re hot and crispy. They pair wonderfully with a light salad for a refreshing contrast.
